About Marilyn J. Fox

I am a visual artist, primarily a painter, and have won numerous awards for my work. My primary motive in painting is creating art that is beautiful and colorful. Whether it is landscape, still life, abstract or something else, color and form are the essentials that I explore. My favorite painters Pierre Bonnard (3 October 1867 – 23 January 1947) and Chaïm Soutine (January 13, 1893 – August 9, 1943) have been a constant source of inspiration.  I have been the director of the Freyberger Gallery, Penn State Berks, Reading, Pa since 1998. Previously, I was a freelance writer on the arts for the Reading Eagle newspaper and wrote features on the arts for several magazines. I have served on many arts committees and boards, including the fine arts board, Reading,PA,  selecting Public Art, the Goggelworks Center for the Arts Reading, PA (exhibition committee), and other local organizations.
